Knicks sind von Gehölzen bewachsene, meist künstlich errichtete Erd- oder Steinwälle, die Felder und Wiesen säumen. Solche Wallhecken sind besonders in Norddeutschen noch weit verbreitet und prägen dort vielfach das Landschaftsbild. Sie ermöglichen eine große biologische Vielfalt. - A Kink or Hedged bank (in German: Knick) is a woody overgrown, mostly artificially built earth or stone wall. They are still widespread, especially in Northern Germany. The kinks provide a habitat for many different plants and animals.
